Report Cards

This trimester we will send your child’s report card via email. If you prefer a paper copy, please let your child’s teacher know ahead of time. Don’t forget February 14th is a minimum day as it is the end of the trimester.

Children’s Business Fair

Exciting news! This Spring our students will be able to unleash their creative potential during the second annual “Children’s Business Fair at Huff.” Our young entrepreneurs will design and build a small business from the ground up, allowing them to practice many of the attributes in our Profile of a Graduate: critical thinking, communication, problem-solving, etc. The best part is... they’ll get to sell to real customers!

If you were not able to attend the meeting, here is the presentation that we used.

Dates to remember

  • 02/04/20-02/14/20 Applications will be available in the office. Applications are DUE: 02/14/20 (No late applications will be accepted)

  • 03/07/20  9-11AM Kick Off Event (Participants and parents only)

We want to hear from you! LCAP surveyThe District is beginning its annual process of writing the LCAP (Local Control Accountability Plan). Your input from the survey will guide the development of our District’s three-year plan and inform the update of the District’s Strategic Plan. These documents are the blueprints that guide all of the District’s work for the benefit of our students.

The survey has been revised to include questions about school and District climate. Please join us at our next principal’s coffee on February 28 from 8-9AM to learn more about LCAP.

Parents, we want to hear from you: Please click below to give input through February 28 in a survey. (Using a laptop/desktop computer or a tablet is recommended. Formatting may not be as readable on mobile devices). If you would like a paper copy, please come to the office.

PTA News:

Mountain Mike’s Pizza Fundraiser

All day on Feb. 10th and 11th Mountain Mike’s Pizza in Mountain View will give 25% back from (non-alcohol) purchases to benefit the Huff PTA. Just mention Huff when you order!

Take out and eat in orders only (no deliveries).

JOIN OUR YEARBOOK TEAM!

Over the next few months we’ll be putting together the Huff yearbook. We’d love it if you can lay out a few pages - maybe your child’s class page! The software is pretty easy (we can give you a quick online training session) and you can work from home so it’s great for working parents.

We’d also love more photographs of clubs and after school activities so if you have a chance, please take some photos and send them to us.

If you’re interested in helping out, please email Kathleen Mikulis and Dorothy Lin at [email protected].

District News:

Coronavirus update

It is worrisome to hear the news of the novel (new) coronavirus. While there are many factors we cannot control, please know we are closely monitoring it and working to make our schools as healthy as possible. Our District is going above the recommended basic actions to help protect against the coronavirus as well as the seasonal flu, and we need your assistance. Please visit www.mvwsd.org/coronavirus to read the latest information, learn about the District's actions, and how parents can help.

Saturday with the Superintendent: Feb. 8 - Note new time!

Saturday with the Superintendent: Join Superintendent Dr. Ayindé Rudolph for casual conversation on Saturday, February 8 from 9-10:30 a.m. at Panera Bread at El Monte and El Camino. Bring your questions and comments.

Afterschool activities advertising

There are many opportunities in Mountain View for students to enrich their learning afterschool or during school breaks. With safety and consistency in mind, our school newsletter and website will advertise only District-, school- and PTA-sponsored events and activities. While we recognize that there are many providers of enrichment activities who use our campus, we may promote only those that follow specific MVWSD parameters for safety and supervision.

The District provides inplay.org as a resource to parents who are seeking additional learning opportunities for their students. To view student enrichment activities, school break and afterschool classes in our community that are not hosted by MVWSD, please see our partner, https://www.inplay.org/r/mountain-view/. MVWSD has not reviewed all programs/events found there and does not specifically endorse them. Parents should thoroughly research all activities before enrolling their children.
