Imai Gazette 03/13/24

Principal’s Message:

Dear Imai Families,

We are looking forward to our Open House which will be on Thursday, March 21st.   The schedule will be as follows:

  • 5:30-7:30 PM Art Show in MUR
  • 6:00-7:00 PM Classrooms open

After Spring Break, Grades 3-5 will start CAASPP Testing.  Students in grades 3-5 will start the practice tests on April 2-5.

Below are some tips you may find useful to help prepare your child for the CAASPP assessment:

  • Explain to your child that it is important to do his/her best.
  • Provide positive reinforcement and encourage your child each day.
  • Keep the test in perspective. We want students to do their best, but please make sure they understand that it is only one test. Remind them that if they are doing their best, you are proud.
  • Make sure your child gets an ample, normal amount of sleep the night before the test
  • Make sure to arrive on time each day.
  • Eat a nice, healthy breakfast.
  • Keep a positive attitude about testing around your child. Remind them that this is a time to show what they know.
  • Make sure all doctor’s appointments are scheduled for after school.

Please plan on attending our informational meeting on 3/15 from 8:15-9:00 AM (register here) and 03/18 from 5-6 PM (register here) on how to prepare your child for CAASPP and all about the testing process.

Women’s Voices Assembly (3/20 8:30-10:00 AM) and we are looking for volunteers to facilitate.  Interest form (due 3/12/24). We can’t do it without your support so please help us out by signing up. We are still short on volunteers.

Have a wonderful rest of the week.

Principal

Better Together: March

In the month of March, #BetterTogether is taking a moment to honor the women trailblazers who shattered barriers and paved the way for future generations. As a way of honoring them, students in the district will also be learning about what it means to embody the spirit of being helpers for others, especially for others facing challenges and inequities. By standing #BetterTogether and amplifying the voices of women, we honor their legacy and continue to strive for a better world.
