Imai Gazette 09/20/23

Principal’s Message:

Dear Imai Families,

Fall is here and the start of many wonderful volunteering opportunities are about to begin. Have you gotten your badge yet? Our teachers have scheduled field trips, activities and lots of opportunities for you to be involved and we would hate to have to cancel them if we don’t have enough volunteers to chaperone. The process takes at least a couple of weeks so we urge you to get started. Infrequent volunteers (less than 3 visits) do not need to be badged but it also means that you can’t fully participate in all of the exciting activities we have planned for the year. Volunteer information is on our district website. We can’t wait to have you on campus.

Don’t forget to join me at our in-person Principal’s Coffee on Friday, 09/29 at 8:30 AM in the MUR. (check-in the office before coming to the MUR)

We have our first (virtual) PTA meeting tonight. Hope to see you there.

Have a wonderful rest of your week.

Better Together: September

This month, #BetterTogether explores identity and celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month, which are both essential components of fostering inclusive and enriching schools in MVWSD. Recognizing and respecting the diverse backgrounds, experiences, and identities of students not only promotes a sense of belonging and allyship but also encourages a more comprehensive and meaningful learning experience for all. Hispanic Heritage Month, in particular, provides an opportunity to appreciate the rich tapestry of Hispanic/Latino cultures, their contributions to society, and the stories of Hispanic/Latino students within our own community. Celebrate with us this month! We are #BetterTogetherMVWSD. For more information about Better Together, visit

Volunteer with MVEF!
MVEF needs 1-3 additional volunteers at each school in MVWSD. MVEF school representatives help the families at their school understand what MVEF is and why it exists so that they are inspired to donate and spread the word about the impact of MVEF funding. MVEF also needs volunteers to help with planning our annual Gala and other community events. To learn more, visit:
